AMPERE EXPLAINS : CHARGING ECOSYSTEM

Renault 5 E-tech

An electric vehicle is more than just a battery and a motor. Its range, efficiency and ease of use also depend on everything that surrounds it: its charging ecosystem.

When charging becomes a smart service

At Ampere, we see the charging ecosystem as a key enabler to simplify drivers’ lives, reduce their carbon footprint… and even create value.

At home, charging becomes smart and bidirectional. The bidirectional charger allows energy to flow both ways: from the grid to the car, and from the car back to the home or the grid. Combined with the Mobilize Powerbox, it unlocks three innovative uses:

  • Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G): the vehicle feeds energy back into the grid, helping to stabilize demand and potentially generating income.
  • Vehicle-to-Home (V2H): the car powers the home, helping reduce energy bills.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): a built-in 220V outlet powers external devices—useful on the go or in emergencies.

On the road, the goal is to make charging as simple as filling up a tank. With Plug & Charge, the vehicle automatically identifies itself at the charging station no badge, no app. Charging starts instantly, and payment is secure.

Finally, Ampere’s Electronic Route Planner optimizes journeys by processing real-time data: speed, weather, payload, charging station availability… It anticipates charging needs and recommends the best stops, with automatic battery preconditioning coming soon to speed up charging.

In this video, join Richard Pothin, Director of Charging Ecosystem, to discover how Ampere is turning charging into a smart, seamless and sustainable service.
